Hungary is a treasure trove if you are looking to add new and exciting grape varieties to your portfolio, in addition to or instead of the typical international varieties. If you are looking to introduce your customers to a new grape variety, a new region or an exciting Hungarian wine style, you will surely find them all at this tasting. Led by one of the most respected international experts on Hungarian wines, Caroline Gilby, Master of Wine this regional wine masterclass will take participants on an exciting journey of discovery through the most important local varieties: Olaszrizling, Furmint, Kéknyelű, Kadarka and Kékfrankos is the route you’re going to take. Expect to explore a number of Hungary’s outstanding wine regions, including some of Caroline’s favourites.

Dr Caroline Gilby MW: Dr Caroline Gilby MW is a widely published wine writer, award-winning author and consultant specialising in the wines of Central and Eastern Europe. She is regional chair covering Hungary at Decanter World Wine Awards and in 2018 she became the first foreigner to be awarded the title of „Friend of Hungarian Winemakers”. She is also a member of the Confrérie de Tokaj.

After the start time the organizers maintain the right to assign vacant seats to walk-ins. Seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis at the counter and the tables around it. The organizers reserve the right to make changes in the line-up of wines presented at the masterclasses if necessary.
