Szekszárdi Merlot, Gubac, 2018

The 1.5-hectare Gubac vineyard covers a hilly area in the southernmost part of the Szekszárd Hills. This monopole vineyard is planted exclusively with Merlot, which thrives in this microclimate. 2018 was the first vintage. The grapes were hand-harvested and the must fermented in stainless steel tanks. 60% of the wine was aged in new Hungarian oak barrels for 18 months.
