Villányi Franc ’18 Streit-Zagonyi, 2018

The nose is unmistakably Cabernet Franc. Black and red berries, rose hips, sweet spices, freshly ground black pepper, with some herbal undertones. A complex, rich red wine. Round and full on the palate, with plenty of everything and good proportions. The finish is long and rich. The malolactic fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks. The wine has been aged in barrels. The choice of barrels – first or second fill, M or M+ – is determined primarily by the character of the vintage. The grapes are harvested when fully ripe to get the best out of them.
